Steffi earned her PhD from UNT Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas, focusing on mouse models of glaucoma and retinal ganglion cell loss. She joined the Hulleman lab as a postdoctoral fellow studying retinal dystrophies and age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Her research interests include retinal pathobiology, AMD disease models, as well as small molecule therapeutics. When not in the lab, Steffi enjoys all things soccer, experimenting in the kitchen, as well as indulging her passion as a true crime aficionado and doom scrolling.
