Carlos Lares earned his B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, where he spent a year conducting research in a junior role focused on the mechanical dynamics of amoeboid cell migration. His research interests center on how immunological and inflammatory signaling disrupts tissue homeostasis in macular degeneration. In his spare time, he enjoys writing, playing Dungeons & Dragons, and video games.
